Has anybody ever dealt with one of these Bose gizmos? As in, some dude shows up to record demos and this is the amp he brings along?

I'm not going to buy one or anything, I'm just curious generally about their properties. I saw Joe Ely last year and he used one as his amp (it was just Joe and an accordian player onstage)

It's really meant as a live performance thing - "ditch your amps, use electronic drums, and run through this line array for a clearer sound." A neat idea, but the implementation doesn't (to me) justify the $2000+ price tag per performer. For a 4-5 piece band you could buy a really nice conventional small PA.
