Really, this issue was the best in months - I really dug into every article. It introduced me to a bunch of people whose music I'll check out because I'm interested in their ideas.
I found the facing page ads for the line 6 guitar and the Focusrite saffire kind of - I don't know, tasteless or something? Something about the blend of colors and texts between the two ads left me queasy! But other than that, fantastic - the phase reversal article was great.
OK then, so Tape Op has interviewed Don Zientara, but what about Ian MacKaye? His band with Amy Farina is awesome, they record themselves (with D.Z.), and he says good stuff. And isn't Amy related to someone who writes for Tape Op?
A Hawk and a Hacksaw is making some of the most interesting records around right now, and he (Jeremy Barnes) is making them on his own terms, around the world - how? What? Huge questions about those sounds.

Great issue, and how about Ian MacKaye and Hawk/Hacksaw?
