Jay Leno and David Letterman

Post by helstab » Thu May 15, 2003 4:32 am

Did anyone see either of their music performances? Third eye blind? avril levingfdsjfkdg? I don't watch either of these shows all that often, but I did last night, and I seriously can not believe how some bands make money. They were both so so bad. It makes me think that maybe our band has a chance if bands like these can make money. I was trying to give them a chance. For the most part I want to like any music or a good performance. That was impossible though. I really got embarrassed for them. I just don't get it some times.

They're all pretty. Are you? If so, you can follow in their footsteps. If not, well, we have a nice parting gift for you.

it seems the case in late night music guests...the later the show...the more I tend to like the music. I can't stand to watch any bands on leno or dave. You're absolutely right...it's embarrassing...you see them, and they can hardly play together...same goes for whoever might be playing on SNL...

I usually like the guests on Conan. White stripes was music guest for a whole week. that was pretty cool.

did you guys know the sugarcubes played on SNL? that was so weird...

and it also always confused me on the cocteau twins' BBC sessions set it says "tracks 1-3: saturday night live, 3rd december 1983"... and i was always like WHAT THE HECK?!? cocteau twins played on america's SNL?!?

i found out later that the album actually has a typo, and it was supposed to be "saturday live", which was some british magazine that recorded bands or something.

but ya... bands on this late night thing suck bad. when i watch snl or letterman, i usually mute or turn off the tv for a few mins. conan & craig kilborn have really good guests on occasion though, and other times their musical guests just suck. but all in all, i like conan the best :D

It's hard to watch, but I like to anyway. It's just something about people sucking on national tv and not knowing it. Thank god I'm pretty.

The best part is hearing everything that is going wronge. Plus this whole what looks "COOL" doesn't work. Out of Music videos it looks comical. You shouldn't look like someone dressed you. you shouldn't sound like your playing someone elses part. Most of all you shouldn't pretend your singing something that you wrote. In a video, you can get by because it has a movie feel...."FAKE". But when it's live it looks stupid. But what do I know?

I agree with the whole "Live appearances" thing. I know when I go to a show, I came to hear the music...not watch some jackass in gold plated pants, winging around a guitar with disco lights on it. Seeing what some people choose to wear on national TV is funny. I wouldn't dress like that on halloween.

Seems like they ususally suck so much because the mix is so, so sh___y. What do those guys mix to, anyway? Some great moments, though. Any body see Tom Waits on Letterman last year? Worth staying up for.

Actually, I think it was Monday, Letterman's show had this band on called The Sounds. They were great. Kind of a synth pop, Hives-like Blondie. That's my best description, that's all I've got.
