TapeOp DVD? In the works?

Post by jcooke » Wed Jun 07, 2006 7:49 pm

I would love to see a dvd made from some of the highlights from TapeOp Con. I'd also buy a dvd from Larry (or Anyone on the board) concerning studio techniques and tricks. Anyone else have any interest?

Good idea.

That makes me think: Why not a CD rom or DVD of all the back issues. That would be snazzy.

No plans to do a TapeOpCon DVD. There's way too much happening to film, edit and release. Really. Plus the game is - we want you to attend the conf. Get it?

not everyone can get to the conference...

I'm sure it's too much to deal with for the people putting the event on but some one else might be willing to do the work as a for profit/break even venture. It seems a shame to not document that stuff. particularly at a conference essentially about documenting events. ;)

As of now we have no plans to do this. It really is so much work to set this event up, and I can tell you there's no money to be made. Dealing with the production costs and editing work to document this event is something we are really avoiding for now. Plus our main, number one goal is to drive people to the event, so if it was also available on DVD afterwards I'm not sure that would help.

Well you know it might do, people might see it and get a sense of the event, making them more likely to go. It's an outlay and a hassle though faux 57.

there were quite a number of cameramen walking around...
