I dig it. If you don't, there are simpler solutions than writing a new theme.

Use firefox.
1. go to view, page style and select 'no style'. goners. it's very 1996.

2. download the web developer toolbar (firefox extension). Restart firefox and on the toolbar click 'Images' then click 'Hide Background Images'. Goners.

3. Suck up to your inner nerd and edit your userConent.css file with notepad adding this to the bottom:

Code: Select all

@-moz-document url-prefix(http://messageboard.tapeop.com/) {
body{background-image: none !important;}
}
you can find userContent.css in

Code: Select all

C:\Documents and Settings\(your user name)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\somenumbers.default\chrome
it's actually called userContent-example.css. edit the file and save it without the '-example' so it's just 'userContent.css'. restart firefox.

1 and 2 you'll need to do on each visit. 3 will always render that way.

WIMP!

As a bonus for facing up to your inner geek, you can do other things... like block ads http://www.floppymoose.com/userContent.css

Well I guess I have been suprised also about some of the little things in various DAW apps that some engineers find annoying. If I was full time and sat in front of the same layout day in and out, maybe I'd get persnickety about little details. Maybe your just a more visual person than the rest. I never even see that line down the middle of the page.

oh no, I like the tape flange. I was just offering options to those who do not. I do not use a TOMB stylesheet but I've been thinking about make a boring one for use while at work. ;)
