I'd venture to say you could make that RAMSA do some really cool tricks IR.

Ya think? Those pres overload interestingly maybe?

I am curious if there pres on the Sony MXP-290 are at all comparable to the ones on the 3k, which people seem to love...or if they're just cheap ones.

I have an Eela mixer that I got a few years ago. It's cool and small, has 3 band eq, aux send - the pan is switched LCR, but they came with pots too. One aux send, mic and line inputs switchable, and a really nasty limiter for the two buss. Oh yeah and it has 10k and 1k test tones...

I think the aux send is maybe at -10 or something? Maybe all the line in/outs except the main are? Something like that...

How does it sound? It's decent, I kind of like the eq, I've had fun with the preamps, and the limiter can really beat the crap out of certain things.

Looks like this:

anyway, I would maybe try to sell it some day since I'm not exactly using it all the time...

The switched pan would kinda be a dealbreaker for me, but that's a cool little mixer! The bus limiter sounds extremely appealing I must say.

fostex 450. beefy low eq and instant aeroplane over the sea distortion on the pres. I still think about getting one again but it's really big to use for the pres. but they're stupid cheap.

I have a dead one of these:

I've toyed with getting it working to check out the pres but I never get around to it.

I kind of assume that it won't be terribly special sounding for all the work that would go into firing it up. I could be wrong, though.

Yeah, it's pretty cool looking. I feel like I'm ready to mix FOH for Pink Floyd in 1968.

I have a couple of old mixers in the "graveyard" but I assume that there's nothing worth salvaging from their circuits more than the parts themselves... I have an early Peavey mixer that I stripped, and another small 80's mixer in storage (I'm trying to remember what it was-I took it out of the garbage outside of a music store about ten years ago...It wasn't an EV, nor a Ross, nor a Tascam or Teac.... it was one of those run-of-the-mill cheap live mixers from the time...maybe a Biamp?) I also recently got an old Tascam that needs some new pots here and there, but works. Nothing special there, though. Or is there?

There are a couple of audio transformers in the old Peavey that I've wondered if they're any use.

McMartin made a little mixer, as did glensound. They are both pretty cool.

Their modern mixers. They have been making them since '66, so there are some cool old ones floating around as well. Some of their new ones actually look great. Simple, and effective...
