FS - Oktava Mk-219 modded by Mike Joly

Post by gutsofgold » Wed Apr 18, 2007 9:59 pm

I am the second owner, I bought it from a user on here a few months ago.
This thing is pristine as it has only been used by me in my project studio on acoustic guitar. I finally purchased myself a Gibson and it needs to be payed off soon so this along with some other small items need to go.

The 219 has Michael's Standard mod along with his Premium Electronics upgrade.
Check out www.oktavamod.com for more details.
I have feedback on eBay under the same name.

$310 + shipping.

What did the premium 219 mod cost to get done anyway?

I'm interested in this mic. Have you tried them on toms?
I know enough to know that I don't know what I am doing.

Check your pm's!

I haven't used this on toms, but I do know of a few who do. Just keep in mind it doesn't have the -10 pad on it and no internal pop-filter so you would have to make sure you pad it at your pre and keep it off the drum a bit. I'm sure it would sound good.

I used it on acoustic guitar and I once had the chance to put it as an overhead on a drum set. If you want any samples of this thing in action let me know.

Hey, just wanted to chime in on this since I was the original owner of this mic and sold it to Guts of Gold. This mic rules! I had to sell because I had a break in and needed the cash. SO I didn't get to have it for too long, but for sound think vintage with a nice beefy transformer (or at least that's how I heard it.)
[Asked whether his shades are prescription or just to look cool]
Guy: Well, I am the drummer.

I fully agree on the sound, not what you would expect from a condenser in this price range. Mike (who mods these) brings them up to spec in every possible way, he leaves nothing short.

Also, the price is negotiable as my new L-1 reissue is probably the most spontaneous guitar purchase I have ever made. .
