Metal Up Your A**! (A sensitive topic)
I just saw on the news that Iraqi's use Metallica, and other metal bands, to break people mentally and make them talk. They also use the Barney theme song. It's apparently true. I don't know if that is funny or not.
No, it is definitely not funny.
I think.

It just goes to show the ineptitude of these people... The Backstreet Boys or NKOTB would be so much more effective...

For me, it's not so much his face as it much as it is when he opens his mouth to speak.ottokbre wrote:one look at Lar's face breaks my spirit.....

ok here are my metallica stories. not that you asked.
1: a few of the guys from metallica used to periodically pop into Open Mind Music when a friend of mine worked there. he said that kirk used to browse the records for about 5 mintues, then leave and cross the street to Gamescape the role-playing game store. which makes him my favorite.
2: another friend of mine works for metallica's financial consultants, and she was cleaning up a conference room after lars finished a long conference call with the other guys in the band, and while he was talking on the phone, he had pulled out a bunch of books about metallica from their bookshelves and opened them up to pictures of himself. and he bookmarked some pictures of himself that i guess he liked the most. what a douche bag!
3: yet another friend of mine was working at The Plant when they were recording one of their new shitty albums. and man does he have stories. but the best of them involve the way that they recorded the music. each one of them had seperate rooms, and they would record their takes alone, 96 tracks EACH (piling up take after take). then they would pick their favorite moments, second to second, cut them up in pro tools to produce a single take that was "perfect". that way they made a "perfect record". again, what douche bags!

That last one is sick. I guess they're trying to make music that people won't download.
I have a "two degrees of Metallica" story: About 10 years ago, my friend of mine saw Megadeth and he stayed at the same hotel as the band. He went to the lobby with a group of people to have a drink and Dave Mustaine was down there. I guess my friend got pretty drunk and excited when Dave made some sort of vague reference about being trapped under ice, and said "Trapped Under Ice! Dude, that's a Metallica song!" Mustaine grabbed my friend by his hair, pulled his head back and said "Shut up, Shithead." Needless to say, my friend was beside himself for days afterwards.

Metallica used to eat at Tommy's Joint. I got a turkey leg there once.
How's that for, like, .0003 degrees of seperation?!
