I had my 163x for over a year before I plugged a bass guitar into the jack on the front ... what was I waiting for??

weve got one of these in the studio and i dont think weve used it once in 3 years... maybe its time to go mess with it. my dad swears by the "one knob squeezer" haha

For simplicity and ease of use they're the shit. I dig mine a lot. Now watch the price on Ebay skyrocket past the $50 they go for now!

Love mine, too. Snare, Bass, loud guitars. Sounded smooth on a slightly overdriven lap steel. What about the other pieces in the series? The de-esser?

No. Most I have seen are actually 1/4" unbalanced.

I think the suffix, like "X" or "A" may have something to do with balanced/unbalanced. Anyone?

yeah, i've got one of these. they rule. awesome on bass. mine had rca's at first, but i put 1/4" jacks into it. i might assume that you have one like mine with the sweet faux wood sides? they came all black once they put 1/4" jacks in i believe. hell mine was given to me. good times...

i've got the desser from that series. it's been a godsend. very effective. i got it for 24 bucks too. talk about cost effective.
