Hi!

This is hardly DIY, but thought maybe you wise guys and girls could help me on this rather simple Q:
-does anybody know what the 12 pin input connectors on the back of the 7510B are called and where I can get some?

Thanks!

Take a piture and post it. Also take some rough physical measurments. If you mean the multipin jobs on each channel, they look like standard miniature D-sub connectors, but I couldn't zoom in close enough to tell http://www.jblpro.com/pub/obsolete/7510b.pdf . An e-note to JBL might be quicker.

Best, Paul

Hey!
Yeah, I tried going through the Norwegian JBL contact, and he said that JBL International didn't have any.
It's not the D-SUBs but a JBL custom input job. 12 pins for 4 channels which if I had the other part of the connector would be fairly practical (aparently the other part had screws to fasten the leads etc.). Looks like this search is gonna end in some DIY'ing soldering XLRs onto the cards...

Oh, and there's a pic of it on page 5/6 in this manual: http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/Vintage%20JBL-UREI%20Electronics/UREI-7510B%20manual.pdf

It's probably a standard connector. But the manual doesn't show enough to tell what sort.

If it's got a little arch over each pin, it's a "Eurostyle" connctor. If it's just rectangular, it's probably a "pluggable terminal block." Not so common in audio, but super commonplace in industrial automation. Measure carefully, because there are metric and standard plugs that are only a tiny fraction of a millimeter off.

Phoenix Contact is the biggest vendor of both of those. You might see if their webpage can help you ID it any further.

There is a D-Sub, but you're probably referring to the long (inputs?) strip next to it. If desperate, you could probably fudge using something like this http://mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?Keyword=158-P02ELK508V12-E . They're pinned for circuit board mount and come in various pitches. Good luck.

Best, Paul

I realize this is old, but did anyone determine a fitting equivalent?

Am I on my own? Done a lot of research, is this connector simply not available?

On page 5, are you refering to connector G or I?

G is just a terminal strip.

I looks like a 15 pin d sub.

So...just picked a 20ch model up, what would be the slickest way to wire the 12 pin terminal style connector to XLRs?

Would this work? I saw a link to someone saying they did something like 4 of these 3 pin connectors instead of 1 12-pin?
