Just thought it'd be interesting to see what people are working on and maybe see some interesting things on how you work.
This is a 3 piece rock band I recorded and am now mixing. First time doing a recording of a band with people playing together live. Recording was done on location. Levels are low cause no matter how many times I i'd say it, the band would adjust their instrument's volume knob and throw my levels off.

One of the first sessions I ever played on, the bass player found himself too loud in his phones, so turned himself down at the guitar. Once the engineer figured out that's why the bass levels suddenly took a nosedive, he walked out into the live room and taped the bass player's volume knob in place. _________________ "Jeweller, you've failed. | Either you're using compression/limiting on that drum kit, or I need to spend some serious work on my drumming (or both). |

Funny you should mention that. There is zero compression on the "drum kit" by me because that particular track is the output of an electric drum kit with kick, toms, and cymbals all compiled into one track. The sounds are actually samples so they are already processed and compressed. Tracks 3 and 4 are real high hat and snare, respectively. You can see more dynamics in the drummers drumming there.[/i] _________________ Formerly known as 'Perranfulo'

Maybe pictures of tape strip marking tracks on consoles can be included? _________________ Formerly known as 'Perranfulo'

The musical is a conglomerate of the first 2 movies, with lines borrowed from Army of Darkness. Act 1 is (essentially) Evil Dead 1, and Act 2 is Evil Dead 2. I'm doing the sound design. Lots of reverse-reverb voices and screams, lots of wind and trees creaking.
It's a very fun show, not least because of the gallons and gallons of fake blood we'll be spewing all over the stage.
I'm doing a college production of it; the Evil Dead: The Musical main site has info about the main company that put it all together in the first place. _________________ "Jeweller, you've failed. Jeweller."
