Generating Revenue

Post by jcaudio » Mon Nov 09, 2009 4:38 pm

I have a nice basement studio in the Cleveland area. I've been booking a band here and there but have always realized that a reasonable income cannot be derived from bands alone. I want to book Voice Over, Editing, Sound Design, and other forms of Post type of work. Actually convinced I would enjoy a balance of more post verses music recording. Does anyone have any input on how to find some connections for post work. Where might I think about going and whom should I be talking to? What is a good way to generate interest?

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Not really asking anyone for leads or "hook-ups". Just was hoping some folks could give advice that would point me in the right direction.

a tad off topic, but you may want to spice up your website a bit. that may help you generate more band income...i didn't get a feel for who you are; which is important for bands- they're not booking a studio, they're booking someone to help make their vision a reality.

i would suggest a couple websites, one geared for bands, one geared for the more corporate clients you're seeking out...each will drive the other away.

I agree. Website is huge. I have one for my music business and one for "corporate" audio.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you make your website ? I used Go daddy a while back and they had these free tools to help you build it but, it still did not look to good.

One month later and the band one doesn't work.

Is this just an economy thing?
