Hey all,
Over the last few months I've been researching options for building a studio in this not-best-of-all-possible economic climates for the recording business.
I've decided on shipping containers, and if anyone is interested, I'm also blogging about the whole process in case there are any nuggets that others can use.

I don't post much here, but I do loiter and glean often. Hoping this is some kind of pay back for what I've learned from the community.
Steve. |

| Cool! Looking forward to more. Love your architect's stuff. Do they have any studio design background? |

No, just experience with the containers, and that's where I'll need the most help.
I have another ace in the hole, a civil engineer father-in-law who'll be designing the foundation and implementing some vibrational isolation, gonna be awesome!
I'll be taking care of the studio design; I've recorded in/worked in a varied selection of studios ranging in value and quality, and I'm getting help from some acoustics design software (CARA-CAD and CARA-CALC) and books like Master Handbook of Acoustics by F. Alton Everest.
So between actual science and my intuition, I should be able to come up with something unique and of good quality. |

I worked on a record here in Atlanta where the control room was made of 2 shipping containers inside of a large space. A good bit different then the other 2 mentioned here but similar idea.
I heard a well known eclectic engineer helped design/build it but I can't confirm that... |
