Solutions to noisy PSU in the control room

Post by weatherbox » Thu Sep 23, 2010 1:02 pm

I'm putting a new board in the place and trying to figure out my power supply situation. It's too noisy to just rack up in the room exposed. I could sacrifice my main isolation room which is directly adjacent to the control room, but I'd really rather not do that. Placing it in there and leaving the console powered down during tracking/monitoring from PT is an option, but seems a console is something that isn't going to like all that power up/power down all the time. There's only one other room here where it could go, and there's no particularly good way to get it there!

Curious if anyone has worked out a solution to in-room noisy machines/PSUs that doesn't involve a $700 soundproofed server cabinet. My room is unfortunately pretty small but I'm trying to work with what's here.
