I hardly ever buy greatest hits records (Chris Whitley's is a great example of one I did, some of the JAMC's, the Stones' High Tides .. and Forty Licks and the Who's Meaty, Beaty ... are great arguments in favor of 'em), butt I picked up a James Brown hits CD, Icon (a series on Polydor) and I gotta say, it's tremendous.
The material is well-chosen and sequenced, the re-mastering stellar.
The only complaint I have is the lack of credits.
I mean, a Big Mac with fries or some James? No contest! _________________ vlayman; THD; blog; TFP |

The epitome of a JB fan experience: beer money in exchange for total bliss, in tasty 3 minute installments.
There used to be off-label vinyl collections of his hits like that too.
Somewhere his ghost is smiling. _________________ "The world don't need no more songs." - Bob Dylan
