at least we haven't had to cry yet.... together....

i can't wait to see your HVAC progress. that is the next big thing for us to tackle... oh the terror.

can't wait for you to stop by. studio A control room should be almost done tomorrow... it's mayhem.

HVAC is a party beyond all compare.

We are still doing the extra framing spec'd by the HVAC guy, now, and a few other odds and ends in the common areas. This is when the studio really starts to show its personality. its awesome.

I added a TON of new pictures of the framing for "A" and "B" and "C" on my facebook page.

It really is amazing to see these ideas and amalgamations of things I liked about other places manifest in reality.... also, to see this place really show its personality... It is designed by me, so it cant help but show that in the framing... I didnt expect that. Its amazing. Hereditary experience memory, locked into 2x6's...

Steel dunnage up on rooftop now for the 20 tons of AC.... yep. thats the norm. that happened while I was at a festival with 95,000 people watching the dead kennedys in Bogota Colombia. .
still in bogota doing a mix workshop at a studio called LOOP...

Framing is done with all the HVAC and electrical really kicking into high gear...
I had to start a second FB photo album....
enjoy!!!

The studio has a real shape now, and it is feeling great. people are really responding to the vibe of the place now that they can really get a sense of the shape of the rooms.
I am just happy that the design is translating in the real world, and I am the one who designed it!!! Scary stuff.... but real life experience has paid off once again...

Hey Joel,
Very cool to see the progress. The place looks great. I can't imagine how exciting this must be for you.

Who is Joseph Nastasi?

My Grandfather who was from Naples, Italy. My mom's dad.
He was a huge influence on me, and he is no longer with us... so I wanted to invite the right kind of spirits into the new studio, so we are building in a few strategically placed photos of loved ones and friends no longer around to share in the excitement of this new space.

Dude,

Bury some silver dust, or gold or at least a quarter in the far left corner of the building from the front door. Brings prosperity.

I'll send you a bit of silver dust if you send me an address.

The crucial aspect of this is to really remember that what is intended to happen within those walls is most certainly not because of, or inspired by those walls....
The environment created will reflect the music and art made in that environment, and vice versa...

Designing the routing for the low level cable runs, and how the work with the electrical runs was a fun puzzle (not sarcasm for once).

Having to manage an electrical crew of a lot of guys is not the simplest thing, so the schematic and drawings had to be tight for that part of it. Walk through with the guy who will be doing the wiring for all the interconnects we are planning went well.

Drywall done.
There will be a cool get together at AES. Friday, the 21st of october, at the new Studio G.
It will be in progress, but clean and fun to hang out in.
It starts at 6:30.. find one of the passes to it at the AES javitts on someones table.. it should be available on at least one of the sponsors table there, and you need the passes to get in.
SEE YOU THERE!!!
(its catered and there should be some sort of drinks...)
