Another mix of 'Take All From Me'

Post by swedishstudios » Sun Jun 01, 2003 5:01 pm

My band, Wiser Than Willard, is recording right now in my basement with Pro Tools Digi 001. Here is one of our latest mixes for the song, please tell us what you think.

Reminds me of King Missle / John S. Hall as well as Suicidal Tendencies. Good recording, really clear sounding, but the mix doesn't quite gel for me. The drums sound a little paper-y, but that's probably my computer speakers killing the oomph.

yeah, like King Missle minus sarcasim & humor. the drums sound kind of
flat...this may be the sound you are going for though. i like the spoken vocal
but the other singing vocal is kind off key and it distracts more than creates
interest. the whole thing is a little bit narrow and comes across in quality as
more like 4-track cassette rather than Digi001. though that may be the
data compression on the mp3. sorry to be critical, but i'm only trying to help.

What do you think I could do to add more oomphh, or make it sound less compressed? What could I do to the drums to make them less airy? thanks for the replies so far
