Three Minute Tease

Post by antbar » Sun Dec 04, 2011 4:30 am

Hi all - I'm new to the Tape Op board, though I've been reading the mag for ages. John Botch was the first person to pull me from my basement 4-track studio and get me going in a proper joint with real mics and an actual coffee maker! This was John's Enharmonik Studios, cicra 1990. And I met Larry Crane there at the tail end of a Vomit Launch session. I'm delighted to see how far both of these guys have taken their passion for recording and proud to connect to them from so far back.

Anyway, here are a couple tracks from an album I've made with Andy Metcalfe and Morris Windsor. Our band is Three Minute Tease, and our debut is coming out sometime in the near soon! These songs were recorded at Remote Farm in Cambridgeshire with many overdubs done at my home studio in Cambridge. The second song features guitar by Nick Saloman, and both tracks have me playing the first Mellotron of me life!

Thanks, and I hope you enjoy...

Cheers! Yeah, they're heroes of mine, and it's been an amazing ride so far... Andy and I co-produced the album. He's, as you'd imagine, always operating to the highest standard whereas I'm coming from too many years of "by any means necessary," but it's worked out quite well and we're all pleased with the result.

If you want to see inside the machine, we've got a few clips from the sessions... here's from the first session a year ago...

And here's from the final session last summer.

Thanks again...

This is another fun vid clip - from the session Morris and I did in Berlin just before Andy joined the band. The studio is Studio East in the massive Funkhaus, former DDR radio building.

Hey, this is great stuff, those are great players, and I just read that "...the term 'cult hero' was invented..." specifically for you (or it should have been).
Goodonya, Mate. When's the album drop? (And in what format?)
