I'm putting the finishing touches on a Magnecord PT6-BN. Had this thing on the shelf for a while, dug it out for the holidays. It was in bad shape, looked like it was under water for a while. It's up and going now.

I also have to clean up this wreck of a space, got a friend coming in to track his band on Tuesday.

Nothing today (it is Sunday, after all). Last night, put together a microphone shoot-out that I will try to get some results up for as soon as possible. Ribbons, active ribbon, condensers, dynamic; Audio Technica, Shiny Box, Fat Head, AKG, MXL, Teac, on vocals, electric guitar, and percussion (drumset and djembe)...

I worked on screwing up my Youtube channel, real good. I made the mistake of "trying the new channel design," and apparently one feature of the new channel design is that it disables all the Video Manager and Analytics and everything else.

So, might as well crank out this CD order and get it ready to mail tomorrow... grrrrrr!....

I don't even want to add it up, but I know it's 50 hrs +

I think it will be worth it, the preamps have these huge Forest brand input transformers. We added a guitar input for both channels, pretty sweet clean sound.

It has 2 channels, in each channel it has 2 - 5879s, 1 12ax7 - 1 EL90.

Sounds like you are off to a great start. Plan B always seems to be my daily routine. I dont know why I attempt Plan A.

Well, some times I need to paint a sign on my forehead that says "Hush my mouth!"

In this particular case, in the blink of and eye (how long does that last? if my computer was watching me blink my eye, would it see this long, lugubrious, fantastically slow-motion effort, kerrr--plunnnnk?) all seems to be righted again, everything working normally.

Of course, that's given me time to discover that the booklets I've been stapling together ALL HAVE THE WRONG COVER, somehow mysteriously I printed out the slimline inserts, thinking they were the booklet cover... but that's okay, I can just peel out the staples with an Exacto knife and... and just go back to bed and start over, I think...

Make sure you run several staples in your finger, and the exacto at least 3x. You should be good to go then.

Mixing a Jason Lytle solo album with Jason at Jackpot!. Day 5. Sounds great. Love his music.

Trying to de-stress studio area/basement (too many keyboards and clutter!!!...need to unload seriously), registered recent purchases with their warranty cards, making minor revisions to the mixes of several remixes. First Pro Tools activity of 2012, been out of the box for other projects.

Spent a few hours editing bed tracks for a record by The Benvereens. We tracked the band (acoustic guitar, bass and drums) & lead vocals live off the floor and are editing full band takes instead of doing punch in fixes. This is my absolute favourite way to make band records. It lets the band play to their strengths (ie: playing together in the same room) and lets me use the best bits.
