My pal Woody has come out with a new bridge for Teles - check it out.

I'm sure some of you are already using the Mastery Bridge for your Jazzmaster/Jag - this is similar. Stainless steel, chrome plated brass or brass saddles, and dead flat bridgeplate. It's sweet.

Looks good, but the problems I have with my 7 Telecaster's are when any bridge plate is tightend down, they tend to pull up slightly at the other end. That creates a small gap and then squealing feedback from that steel plate vibrating into the magnetic field created by the pickup it holds.
You can drill out a couple of holes and screw that end down, or as I do, a drop or two of silicon glue damps the metal to prevent feedback (yes, I play Telecasters on '11').
This problem I have solved on my rosewood telecaster by the use of an aftermarket bridge from All Parts. It's extra thick steel, no warping when tightend down. Even if the bridge plate is super flat, if it's standard Tele thickness it will pull up. No finish is as flat as these bridge plates, another consideration.
