PT9 driving me nuts

Bugs everywhere. Crashes daily. I'm in the middle of a large project but I'm considering upgrading to 10, any thoughts on that? It freaks me out a bit but I could really use some stability, not to mention the time saved by clip gain and loading everything into RAM. What say you, tapeop folks?

I did upgrade to 10 HD.

It works a lot better, more stable.

I do get an -7100 error every now in a blue moon... activating inactivated tracks sometimes throws this error.
But nothing that would kill me.

Pt 9 from what I remember was less stable, as if it was an "interim release" between 8 and 10.

I LOVE loading all audio into RAM. I now have 12GB, which handles 90% of all projects I have.

If you only have 6GB or less, get more RAM before upgrading. Mac OS 10.6.8 uses up to 4GB to work properly, and you'll need as much as 6GB more for Pro Tools to do it's thing.

And Clip Gain is a Godsend. Especially for spoken word dialogue fixing. Goddamn I can do this without getting a headache thinking about it anymore.

Really I don't have a lot of trouble with 9? It has had its less than stable moments but the latest updates have kept it reasonable. I can't think of the last time I had a crash on it. That said, 10 seems to have a few nice features...

I've been hearing far fewer stability complaints about 10 than 9.

if you haven't visited http://duc.avid.com/, you should. I've been running 9.0.6 and its been fairly stable. There are a few quirks that Avid will never fix (unless I pay them more money to go to 10 then 11 then 12...) but is definitely usable for me. I'm on win64.
