In a 12' x 9' x 8' room I am treating to be a suitable mixing environment, I plan on building a floor-to-ceiling corner bass trap, triangular in shape. still developing that design.
My question, however, is what I can do with the space between the couch and the rear wall (directly behind mix position, on one end of the room's 12' length) that ill be created hen I move the couch away from the all to fit the trap. If the trap is a right triangle prism measuring 3' x 2',1" x 2',1" laterally, the couch will have to be 1' from the wall from both it's back and one of it's sides.
Can it be stuffed and used to trap more low frequency energy?
would leaving a space there accomplish any noticeable low end control by itself?
Could I build some sort of tuned bass trap device to fit in the space?
would a bigger or smaller triangular trap be better?
Better for storage than any of these options?
I will post fuzzmeasure data once I acquire a suitable microphone to use with the program.
Also: first post. Hello!
space behind couch useable for trapping bass?
