There is a thread that's about 3 years old on this topic but in the interim Pioneer has stopped making the speaker that seemed to be the low cost replacement of choice, the Pioneer A11EC80-02F 4-1/2".
Has anyone recently found a replacement? I could just re-foam my drivers I suppose but would rather not if there is a cheaper solution. The closest All Parts could come was a 4" driver but I'd rather the solution not be a janky looking thing - who wants that, amiright? _________________ i 've got my own map, sucker |

I've looked into those Maplin but they won't ship outside the UK. Been conferring with cabinet building buddy and the speaker pickings are real slim to non-existent. Parts Express has no 4.5 drivers in 8 ohms - just not a hot seller these days. It seems like it would just be cheaper to build some DIY Auratones with 4 ohm speakers - though I cannot recall if the one's on Parts Express with full range - at the very least they were only 10 a piece. _________________ i 've got my own map, sucker |

well hot damn - I bet those would work just fine!
Though for those of us looking for two, at $100 a pair I might still just build my own...
Or maybe that's a pair?
good eye!
oh stupid question - it says pair in the heading.
Damn - I have a fellow who will sell me an original pair for the same price but have not heard back from him....
