I have been trolling craigslist and other recording forums today trying to find an affordable 2 input interface but have come to the conclusion that I don't have enough knowledge to commit to one.
Here's my situation: I only need two inputs, as this is just for synth overdubs & extra synth tracking while I am out of town. At home I have both motu and fireface multiple input devices, neither of which are very portable. My first firewire interface was a presonus something or other which was kind of horrible & have not looked into minimal input interfaces since then. I'd love a Duet but don't want to spend the cash and would be happy with something used if it was between $100 and $200 used.
I am using Reaper (and have older tracks in DP5) so am not sure I can interface with a Digidesign product. I don't really care about mic pre's, as like I said, I am just going to be using line-level synth signal. I just don't want a lousy, poppy, un-supported driver crapbox to make my life miserable for what I am willing to spend. And I'm a mac guy, on a laptop.
Anyone have any suggestions? _________________ i 've got my own map, sucker |

Here's a random but semi-related question: why can't you get Audiofire products from Sweetwater? _________________ i 've got my own map, sucker |

well I did indeed purchase that Audiofire 2 and I must say it is quite awesome for the money - couldn't be happier. The perfect interface for the synth feller on the go... _________________ i 've got my own map, sucker |
