So I'm going to install a decoupled ceiling with green glue in the basement. My question is will putting two drywall layers inside the joist space with green glue between them help or no? Just trying to get an estimate together on my cost/ time involved.
For what it's worth, it's an old building with a 9" joist space. Lumber joists, steel beam, and masonry walls 50% below grade. Sub floor is lumber with hardwood above. _________________ I make a living as an electrician, not recording in the basement. |

Sounds like you are really gonna try to do it right.
Don't start your job without buying Rod Gervais book first.
