Thanks man. I will wear the wank-indeed badge you bestow proudly. The "super-80's gated" snare was really just a couple of stock HR-16B snares layered, with some compression (it might have been 10:1). I'm always amazed at what compression does, even to fake drums.

Maybe the fact that they come from the HR-16B make them "super-80's" by default?

haha. nice. super 80's indeed. I could hear this as a rhythm track for love and rockets. kinda tribal and spaced out.
