Guitar crack question

Post by vvv » Fri Jun 27, 2014 11:00 am

Yes, those of us who play know that guitars is like crack.

That babbled, I just got a used Martin for a low price but it has a thin surface crack (not all the way through altho' it's a solid top) from the butt to the bridge, dead center.

The bridge is holding OK so far.

Any idear how long before I might have to fix it, and at what cost?

BTW, it sounds way 8) .

The only thing I would guess is the sooner you fix it the cheaper it'll probably be and the more likely it'll still sound smileyface afterwards.

Your guitar must be a plumber.

I need like a Woody Guthrie sticker, something about, "This guitar kills roto-rooters" ...

Note to Snarl: that's not a "smiley-face", it's a "cool-face", it sounds cool, I mean, jeez ...

I'd be more worried about the condition of the bracing inside that allowed such a crack to happen.
Have you taken the strings off and used a small mirror to look around inside?
