Are pro audio dealers becoming obsolete?

I'd have no problem if Guitar Center disappeared tomorrow, but I am loyal to Full Compass because they're local to me (Madison), they have parts & repair departments, huge selection, still sell TAPE, and they don't assign you a "sales engineer" to hound you with phone calls.

To be honest though, I do all my gear research on Sweetwater before ordering through Full Compass. They have way better pictures and 360 views, not to mention the awesome Cable Finder and Case Finders.

Wouldn't it be great if there were a "mom & pop" pro audio dealer?
