Good Software and PCI Card Choices

Post by Arman » Wed Jun 04, 2003 12:31 pm

I have a stand alone hard disk recorder that runs 24/44.1 and I'm looking for some good PC based software to mix with. The unit I have can only mix 8 tracks at once and I have between 10 and 20 per song. I could do sub mixes on the recorder I have but I would rather have the flexability to mix each track independantly. Something with automation would be nice. I know it can be a hassle not to have real knobs, but I've already sacrificed myself to the DIGI-GOD.

As far as a sound card, I was condidering picking up a Delta-44 so that I could route a couple of my external processors (spring rerverb and such) into the mix. I don't need anything with mic pres built in, just a 24 bit card that I can route 1/4 in's and out's.

Any help is greatly appreciated
