That's interesting. I thought pushing the speaker was part of getting "the sound".

pushing the tubes is a much bigger factor that pushing the speaker.

Thanks guys. I had a Fender Twin Reverb reissue years ago that tended to get a little farty when cranked. Probably the 12" speakers?
