I've always gotten them from Mouser. After watching them fail over the years, sometimes quickly, I've changed to an appropriate Zener diode, with much better life, regulation, and meter drift. I've done this with half a dozen units at this point.

I found some but what is the part number for thee zenier? also does that need any modification?
And if the bulb is out is it ok to run the compressor??

The regulated power section will have no reference, so you might blow up your meter if it slams due to lack of power stability. I wouldn't do it.

ok I thought this was a bulb...I'm not electronically savvy so where does the diode go?
does it replace the bulb?

It replaces the bulb. You can just barely see it soldered to the bulb holder inside the units in 2 different units pictured in that thread link. Orientation must be correct, in doubt confirm ground side for diode. Bigger pic here:
