attn: drummers - looking for unusual tension rods
I have looked everywhere I can think of and am coming up with nothing - hoping that maybe @cgarges or other drummers might have a lead for me.
I got a vintage pearl kit from a buddy a few years back for some recording
work we did and it's missing a few tension rods for the floor tom.
They are unusual in that they are 6" long and I believe they are what is called "coarse thread". A drummer friend of mine said that they would be the same as the ones used in ludwig club date kits from the same era.

where can i find random old stuff like this?

Cannon sell longish rods:

I'm not totally sure of the thread, though. Are the nuts in the lugs removable, such that you could swap them out, if needed?

Hey Jon,
If it's a vintage Pearl kit the treads are likely metric. I had an old 60's Raven kit with the same issue. If you can find the right length of rod but not the right threat you can sometimes take apart the lug and put an imperial nut thing-y in there (that's what I did on mine).
Try emailing the guys at Century Drums. Greg used to run the drum department at Songbird way back in the day and is a great resource for parts and knowledge. He's the one who sorted out my Raven kit for me.

I was going to suggest that if Drum Factory Direct didn't have a suitable replacement.A.David.MacKinnon wrote:If you can find the right length of rod but not the right threat you can sometimes take apart the lug and put an imperial nut thing-y in there.
