He made an immense contribution to the success of the beatles. Listen to I am the Walrus without all the extras and get an understanding of his genius. RIP

Chase a copy of this book (Making Music) down, if you haven't already.
It's a little hard to Google "george martin book" without getting all the Games and/or Thrones stuff.
Not all by George, but kind of a collection of topics from his friends/coworkers...
