I was thinking it might be good to have a couple of these, one over the drums, one for vocals. Anyone used these, any gotchas to look for?

Exactly. My workbench light/magnifier will sometimes sing along with specific notes.
I'm not saying that's automatically a bad thing.

I've had the idea in the back of my mind for a while now, to have a pair of these or something similar over the drumkit. Surely there's a specific product for such an application?

I'd just use a large boom stand, reaching over to where the drummer can sing into a microphone. If there is room, from behind and above the drummer's head, otherwise finding the place where the drummer almost NEVER sends his drumsticks / arms.
This looks really flimsy, and if it got accidentally hit by an excited drummer... fun times.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.
