I have an old Alesis HD24 IDE drive in a caddy that I would like to access using my computer. I know that there are 40 pin SATA to USB cables that I can acquire, but still need a way of powering the drive.

Any tips on how to access the data on the drive would be much appreciated!

You will need a computer which can read the ADAT/FST drive format.

As to the IDE drive itself, you'll need an ENCLOSURE that accepts the drive hardware format, and uses connections that you can use to hook up to your computer.

Some include power for the hard drive as well.

Those caddies are kind of valuable these days since they don't make them anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could find somebody who'd transfer all the data for you in exchange for the caddy and drive.
