ERGONOMIC MOUSE

Post by cstocker77 » Fri Mar 10, 2017 8:42 am

My hands hurt. Maybe a little genetic tunnel carpel to boot.

What's everyone using for a mouse with their DAW????

Thanks.

Ball mouse.

The old and discontinued MS one (Trackman Wheelmouse) is going for US$300 or so, used, but they do wear out after about 5 years, so I wouldn't buy a used one.

The Logitech (USB) is about US$30 new; they last me 3-5 years, used for hours, daily.

I use the Logitech wireless trackball (thumb ball) and solar keyboard (Mac) combo.

Love them, fairly priced. Don't eat batteries.

I've got the logitec usb track ball (and the thumb ball as well). It's good but the lack of a scroll wheel is a bit of a pain. Otherwise no complaints and the price is decent.

Mine definitely has a scroll wheel:

Kensington Expert Mouse here.

It's a HUGE trackball, with 4 programmable buttons.

I use the lower two in a chord, to turn on and off the volume view on Pro Tools. Saves a ton of time, since there is no shortcut for that.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

My cats have not ran off with it yet, but they did knock the wired one I have off the desk too many times, breaking it and the ball (the ball is expensive to replace). By the time it died, the wired model I had was no longer available and bizarrely prized on eBay (like $80 or more?). So I found the wireless one and the solar keyboard on sale for around $50 total and bought those instead.

The Logitech looks like it's for right handed people... This Kensington on the other hand, looks like i can use it with either hand. Im sure Logitech makes for both hands. But i kind of like the option of it working fine on both sides of the computer.

Are the smaller buttons for scrolling? I have the older version, with just the two large buttons.

I HATE normal mice, and thumb trackballs.

Yes, I use one for scroll down, the other for page back.
