|Help: I need a lap-top for doing overdubs (protools session) at home.
It needs to be a laptop (I need small and portable)
It will only be recording 1-2 tracks at a time. MAYBE 4 on a rare occasion. Minimal plugins used. I won't be requiring this to run lots of channels.
I need it to be stable and idiot proof. I am not particularly tech savvy and don't want to spent time wrestling with hacking systems/software or driver issues.
I need low latency.
I would LOVE it if I could continue to my Apogee Rosetta for my I/O.
I used to run Nuendo in a Dell SC400 Server with 2 large monitors. But now I need small, portable, and protools.
I would love to keep the price UNDER $1000.
A refurbished MAC laptop?
Please let me know what you've used that fits the bill, who sells it, any other suggestions.
Check out my website for cool songs recorded and played by me with Steve Goulding of the Mekons on drums. Drums were recorded by our own Joel H at Studio G.
