tell me what you think.

it would be nice to get some outside opinions on a song i recorded and mixed for a friends band. keep in mind the vocals are horrible and i did this with very minimal and very bad equipment. any feedback would be appriciated.

When you put it like that, how can I resist?

First off, you're right about the vocals. Ouch.

I think that given the band you were working with, you did a pretty good job. I like the drum sounds (first thing I always listen for). There's a bit too much verb on the snare, though. When the distorted guitars come in, they're overpowering everything. Maybe bring 'em down a little. Conversely, I'd like to hear the bass a little louder, especially when the distorted guitars come in.

well i didn't add any reverb, i recorded it in a church. i copressed the hell out of it before i converted it to mp3 and the guitars ended up a farly. overpowering on the distorted part.

why is it that so many girls think they have to sing like this? other than that, yeah the distorted guitars, but everything else is cool. definitely want the bass bigger during the distorted parts. it sounds like it could be really cool, but i can't tell all that well. drums and clean guitars/bass are awesome though.

Autotune those vocals on the chorus please.
Nice drums, nice mix on verse, mess on chorus.

I agree with everyone about the chorus and mix, and the vocal problems.
Can you tell us what gear you recorded them with? Overall, it sounds good and shows that you are a good engineer.

i used three mics a sm57, atm25, mxl2001, whatever the cheepest mixer behringer that still has faders two tracks at a time through a sb live soundcard into my computer via sonar. and the blue plugins. i just used the filter instead of eq'ing anything. thats about it.
