And apologies...

I'm sorry if my post was super condescending, too. I've been idiotic enough to have: 1. Bit into a plug (Christmas day, Age eight), because I couldn't get the plug out of the wall. I still remember - there was a glowing sun in each eye. Like looking into the sun, only brighter. Slept for two days. 2...

Please don't build anything...

I had the exact same issue ("disc to slow-") error with ensemble, macbook pro (2.16, 2g ram), and the only thing that ever cured it was a reboot. Fortunately, it cured it every time. At least until I switched to PT, which basically cured all of my software problems.

"because I hate formalized authority," you think starting your own business is going to liberate you from formalized authority? you are dealing with banks, lawyers and acountants and the gov't daily. then there is a chance you end up being a regretful, confused has been 40 year old. there is nothin...

I'm in the minority, I know, but it's just further proof that Nels Cline ruins EVERYTHING.

Sounds a lot like the sounds on the first Son Volt tour, which was SG standard (old), no effects, to a weird vox/marshall type amp (no logo, sounded like vox to me, without the boxy sound).

So...good...live.

I think misterock feels akin to Fletcher. He gets to be Mr. Big Man and shit all over the little guy. Straight out of the Guitar Center tool-brain playbook. I think you missed the point. If you read Fletcher's take, it makes sense. If you read Drew's, it's equally articulate and sensible. Moral: bo...

I just got one...couldn't resist. Personally, I think it's totally worth it. I've had junos, roland xp's, etc. Basically a bunch of keyboards that you play when you "need a keyboard part." For me (and maybe only me), the layout and a design that relates to the physics of synthesis makes me want to s...

I've had a few and Sonor ones always seem to come out the winner. Believe it or nut, they always seem to sound most "up front" and are easier to mix. Which I know sounds ridonkulous.

if money's no object...

Check out the Carr Rambler. That's the sexiest Deluxe-style amp. It's got the Neve of guitar amp eq's and the mid cut on that might be just what the doctor orderded.

It's not like I can afford one...there like $1800+ in used, near mint condish.
