That set up was most definately not the one that either kevin or Belinda used when I saw them- that monster was literally like 15-20 stompboxes each, in a huge daisychain, and all the midi was triggered by the drummer.

Shiny Box 46mxl, ART MPA GOLD, Beard Gold Tone GRS resonator

Howdy- Have to clear some gear, and although both of these items have been good to me, I'm pretty well set with a Hamptone JFET and two OktavMod LDCs..so these must go. Both are less than a year old, slightly used, in perfect or near perfect condition. Pre amp has never been rack mounted, smoke free...

For just a straight clean boost, the Zinky Master Blaster is good, has a tone knob, and is filled with tasty silicone. Not as far-out at full bore as the SHO, but very nice.

Rush. Eagles. Steely Dan. Poco. Toto. Triumph. FM. Van Halen. (edited to add Asia). I am pretty sure I don't even know what Emo is, but I hate it. My (much younger, rarely home) room mate is wildly into Nickelback & Staind...I just let those moments where we would talk about music pass. I thought I ...

Here's the (basically unrelated on all counts) follow up: Jeez, the Hamptone JFET is sweet...yow. That's all I have to say. It's amazing what another pile of $ will get you.

Purely subjectively, I have one of each, and the main differences are the imperdence, which is really nice- you can get very different 'voices' out of the same mic- as well as higher gain on the ART. I actually prefer the 12ay7- it's go one sound, and I like it. Just bought a Hamptone JFET which sho...
