Anyone still got the docs for this? I bought one of the PCB's years ago and never got around to building it. I've been wishing I had it lately.

Thanks!

They're slightly wonky, for sure, so I figure I'll be adjusting in some way.

Do you think that if I'm going to end up not using 2 layers of sheetrock, that there's any point in using resilient channel?

Thanks for the responses folks!

Everything appears to be on 24" centers. I'll definitely be asking a structural engineer what I can pull off. I guess that's my next step.

Hello Floid. Thanks for responding! are the floor joists tied to a center laminated beam or span the entire floor width/ how are they spaced? this will affect how much weight you can safely add to the floor. I think I'll have to tear into the floors a bit to answer this. I'll check that out. The joi...

Mix room in unfinished attic. Advice?

Hello! I received some excellent advice from the forum a while back, regarding a room I'd been using to mix in. As it turns out, we ended up buying a different house, which is fortunate, since the room I was mixing in was 10' x 10' x 8'. Yeah? ugly. In our new house, we have a 3 car garage with a de...

My friend is clearing out his great-aunt's house and found this, which he gave to me. It's a Wollensak T-1515 with the original mic and some other stuff. The guts are real clean. Hopefully I can track down an AC cord, and I'll probably take it to Aztech in Boston for a checkup next time I'm there. ...

Thanks Jim! So would these likely hold their own against the little Beyer trafos in a 1280B? Or another application? I have a bunch of McCurdy mic pre's that also use the little Beyer transformers, and a bunch of channels from a Sound Workshop Series 30. Any uses with these? Much appreciated! Stephen

Can anyone tell me what these trafos might be good for?

I have 8 Hammond 842 transformers that came from a McCurdy broadcast console. Hammond's website says this... Application: ** P.P. Plates to Line Primary: 5K/20K (6K/24K) Secondary: 125/500 (150/600) Can anyone tell me what a trafo with these specs might be used for? To say I'm a novice in my underst...

You might check out a Sound Workshop 1280b with the "Super EQ" option. Neat little mixer designed by some of the designers behind the API 550 EQ. Transformer balanced mic pre's, and plenty of vibe. They've been going up in price, but they still show up cheap from time to time. I have one that I real...

Found a Wurlitzer 200a in the trash down the street. It's got problems, but I figure if I throw a couple hundred bucks at it, it'll be a neat thing to have around.

When I was 16, I missed a Les Paul Jr. at a garage sale for $100. I couldn't get them to hold it for me till I got back with the $.

Thanks for the replies folks! I went ahead and made four 2x4ft x 4" rockwool absorbers for the corners of the wall. I might try some doubled up foam for the early reflection points and ceiling, and see where that gets me.

Foam. Completely worthless?

I mix at home in a far less than ideal room, and I'm trying to do some DIY treatments to improve things. I have almost no $ to spend toward this goal, but I do have a few things laying around. I have four 4" rockwool sheets which I'm using to make four 2ft x 4ft broadband absorbers/bass traps to put...
