You can go here to see some FHII's in blumlein in front of the kit. You will have to log in to myspace to see the pics. We used them as room mics with Shure KSM27 as spaced pairs for OH's. They were awesome as room mics and I wouldn't hesitate to use them as OH's. www.myspace.com/bobcharlesband Unfo...

Peavey VMP-2 is in the $600.00-$750.00 range. Not a perfect pre, but a pretty dang nice one. I was just going to mention this much under loved pre. I got lucky and spent $500.00 for mine but it would probably be difficult to find one in that range now. Here is a link to an article about one if you ...

If you can find the discontinued CAD VX2, buy it. I am saving my dimes for one. I have not read one bad user review anywhere.

I was lucky enough to get the manual to mine when I "received" it. I have the MX5050BII 2, according to the label. Mine needs a serious mechanical calibration, which the manual tells about in pretty good detail. Right now I would be scare to put a test tape on it for fear of it being destroyed as th...

I have a sub and I mix with it activated all the time. The difference between me and wedge, however, may be that I've set up my sub to be very subtle. If a sub makes the bass "really hit you" on typical commercial recordings then you've got it set quite high. I've setup my sub to discreetly extend ...

http://www.tapcoworld.com/products/sw10/index.html These are 10" powered sub, adjustable crossover on both channels and have a volume control so you can adjust how much of the sub you hear in relation to your Reveals. Best of all, less than $400.00. I am using one in the exact context you are asking...

If you want to try a hardware LA-2Aish compressor, keep your eyes peeled for a Peavey VC/L-2. These were only made for a short time but can be had for a very reasonable price, thanks to the Peavey name being on it. THey are slowly coming up in price as people are discovering it. Here is a link for y...

I was just going to tell you to head over to the Prodigy site but I see someone beat me to it. And, they turned you onto my thread...I am "crash" over there and on most forums, someone beat me to my usual handle here. I had all the same questions you did. If you decide to get the green 4722 can, don...

So far this year, I have scored a VMP-2 dual channel tube pre, a VC-L/2 dual channel comp/limiter, built a custom rack for all of my tube gear and scored a AKG-414ULS. I have upgraded the hard drive in my Masterlink. The HDR, had a BIOS chip update, which allows for bigger hard drives. I also scored...

Here is what I wrote in the other thread listed above: If you are looking for a killer verb for around $100.00, then you need to check out the Ibanez SDR1000. This thing was around $1200.00 new, back in the late 80's and is a true stereo, way editable single rack space verb. No external wall wart or...
