No Issue There
Hi. I buy and sell gear all the time....usually at a profit and sometimes at a great profit. I've been doing this for 25 years - as long as I've been a musician. I never lied to anyone or deceived anyone either so my conscience is clear. If my knowledge about a topic makes me money, then isn't that ...

Re: Moving to NYC, Need Some Advice
So the question begs, how do you New Yorkers do it? I sleep in Staten Island, goto college in Queens, and work in Manhattan. I live in a terrible apartment complex. But the walls are thick, thick concrete. It's funny, the walls to the hallway are paper thin, but the walls inbetween spaces are solid...

Re: Ibanez Artcore series guitar case? Suggestions?
My girlfriend bought me an Ibanez AGS83B semi-hollow electric guitar a couple years ago just out of the blue. Quite a cool "I love you" gift. 8) I am having a hell of a time finding a cheap case to put it in, though. I have been using this stupid acoustic guitar gig bag for almost 2 years, and now ...

it could be a bad cap giving you a parasitic oscillation, too. Also, you might want to check and see that the speaker has been evenly tensioned (just like a snare head) to the baffle. Yeah, the cap problem described above is just what I had once. Just needed to be replaced and the problem was solve...

Question for Mackie 1202/1402 VLZ3 owners
Hi. Using this model of Mackie mixer, can I hear effects via monitoring through the board which are not actually being recorded. For example, my plan is to: 1. Have a signal being recorded into my PC soundcard via the Alt 3-4 bus on the mixer. 2. I will add the Alt 3-4 bus to the monitor mix via the...

About the pair of condensers.... I have an MXL 603S Mogami which I think is solid. I've never recorded something and said "that stinks". And I've often recorded something and said "I doubt I'll have to get something better than this mic for a while". I was using a Focusrite Preamp (in terms of full ...

I have a lot of experience with Les Pauls and different pickups. In spite of many of the threads on a lot of boards which say "You MUST buy a Seth Lover" or whatever, I'm going to recommend you get a Duncan '59 also. Why? Because in my experience, it is a great all around pickup. I think that a lot ...

Which Analog Mixer?
Hi. I want to buy an analog mixer to use for recording with my PC. I only need to record 2 tracks simultaneously, while also monitoring through the analog mixer what's already been recorded and what I am currently recording. I do NOT want to use the mixer's: 1. direct outs 2. aux sends/returns 3. in...

Also, is there an alternative place to get hubs and the above materials for the unit (other than e-bay)?

TEAC 3340S
Hi. I just got one of these machines and want to check it out. It is just the machine. So I know it at least needs: 1. Hubs (to hold the reels on) 2. Power cable (2 prong, old style) 3. Take-up reel What else do I need? How do I calibrate/clean/test? Is this machine worth checking out. I've recorded...

Bulk CD Dupe: CD-R vs. ???
hi. i'm a bit new to the cd duplication world. i have been told that some dupe houses do CD-Rs only and that others do whatever is more standard (i don't know what the format is called, i'm sorry). my questions are: 1. what is the difference? 2. how can i ensure that they are not doing the CD-R meth...
