FS: Daking 52270 mic/pre ?525/$850

This is an older model, similar to the 52270H with the larger knobs but more markings, photo available on request. One of my favourite eqs ever just doesn't fit into my mastering setup due to mono nature. Rather it go to a home that will use it fully. Can ship most places or local pickup in London, ...

One theme I have noticed on here is some of you "put on" limiting just to make a reference louder. When I am mixing music that traditionally more compressed, I start the mix from scratch with all the mix buss elements in. And I mix "into" the compressor/limiter plus whatever else is on there. This ...

I agree Jesse, unfortunately for me though, particularly with dance music, I sometimes get very very compressed/clipped music, not just light limitting. It's not too uncommon for me to encounter songs from musicians who self engineered and who aren't familiar with what a master bus even is. In this...

I have no issues with artists doing some compression if it works with the track and also recommend light limiting to get a ref of how it will sound. Both can easily be printed without when needed. In electronic stuff the compression can be so integral to the sound it's almost required during mixing ...

Re: All Roland Manuals Now Online!

Wow thats cool, thanks for the link. I might even download some of the older ones like the tr909 just to see how they worked since I have never owned a real one.

Re: Does gear like Distressor or Fatso=Analog tape?

I had a Fatso and didn't think much of the tape emulation characterisitics at the time. Then I got an Otari MX70 and now I really think the Fatso doesn't sound like tape.

Re: bad habits in R&B/Hip Hop

i wont phrase this as a mistake that people do, but the last 6 months or so ive been really into rap SONGS. not some beat that someone did that later got matched up to some lyrics that the rapper wrote. but a real song that has the music really intertwined with the vocals in a more traditional way....

Re: Question for Deluxe Memory Man owners

"up to 550ms" just means the delay time goes from 0-555ms. I think since delay times for those kinda of pieces is somewhat limited the maximum time is always referenced like that so you know what the longest repeat can reach.
