Motu AVB. Portland Or

Hi, anyone in Portland usi the motu avb series? I've had mine for a few months and still cannot get ind headphone mix routing to work. It's crazy frustrating and came to a head today with a paid session. I've called motu multiple times, emailed them, and still haven't been able to make it work in my...

I'd recommend you look into the new Motu AVB line. I just scored a 16A for my home studio because it had the same features I wanted an RME UFX for, but at about half the price. There are alos folks out there claiming the conversion is on par with apogee symphony. I wouldn't know about that, but I am...

Hey Snarl, still in pdx? Wanna jam? And Mr. Fitzsimmons of C-attle, that previous Bell witch record you recorded sounded awesome. I'm good friends and bandmates with Erin Leonard of creote fame. I've used the message board since 2004 to learn about techniques and gear. Became aware of tapeop in like...

I would say 90% of everything on this album was vp28 and vp26 preamps.

Overhead, kick, snare
And almost all guitar tracks

I use musicpro. luckily, I've not had to file a claim yet.

it certainly gives me peace of mind considering how much $ I have invested in gear.

I don't know of any books that will help, but my approach would be to find a schematic of the circuit, build an audio probe(super simple), and then probe the circuit point-to-point from input onward until i found where the failure is happening.

I've used kunaki and you can have as few as 1 copy made. They look professional, full color on disk and insert/back/spine. It's duplication cdr. Not the highest quality, but i've had no problems at all. I mean, you can have just one or two profesisonal looking, shrink wrapped copies made. Just canno...

Komit

Mike, can you tell me how you liked this comp on snare, oh, or room mics?

I've read they're solid on bass and guitar, but am also interested in what they sound like on drums.

I spent time in a recordng situation today. The band I play drums was doing some serious tracking.
I had vp28 on oh and snare and a vp26 on kick.
My initial impressions are that these are some seriously awesome preamps.
Once I've got a take and initial balance mix, I'll share

The vp28s can be used in both mic and line level modes. A lot of guys over at gearslutz use them on their mixbus and swear by it. Also, the vp28 has an extra output xformer and a hpf section. I have only had mine up and running for a day, but man, I've never had a pre with such a large sound to it. ...

CAPI vp26 and vp28 preamps

I just finished building a couple of vp28s and a vp26. My drum recordings have never sounded better. So thick and hefty. I definitely recommend them.

Layered looping music creation

Anyone know of an audio program that you can do layered looping with? Not looking for a pedal, i want to be able to create layers on the fly and choose which to mute or not without stopping. Like Brent knopf's Deeler program; http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RqlIZ6bFxds&list=PL10B92EC1DC626D7D&index=1&d...
