Like what? Don't hire a session bass player, keep that hack chick drummer and sing god awful to lame guitar riffs? Not much production, really. Actually, there's tons of "production". Pure analog at that. Well... at least 'till it gets mastered for CD. THeir production values are quite high IMO and...

remember, now, using a pitch shifter to play guitar in the "bass" frequency range isn't the same as putting "bass" guitar on your album. Everybody knows "bass" doesn't refer to the frequency range of an instrument, it refers to whether there's only four strings and it says "bass" on the headstock. T...

My long-time friend, colleague and owner of the Audio Playground Synthesizer Museum, Joseph Rivers... would be a good candidate for something like this. It's home of the largest collection of synths and drum machines in the world. Not to mention a Toft console... tons of rare/vintage/unknown mics, p...

well if we're posting opinions. i would like to *not* see this in tapeop. i have no interest in what synth, or softsynth they used, or if their sampler as 12 bit or 16 bit. could not care less. They actually use a lot of older analog methods. Tape loops, splicing, odd configurations and mic'ing. I ...

Yup, you've got it. You'll probably come to find that working with midi isn't so bad. The initial learning curve can be a bitch, but it's good once you get used to it. Teaching a more experienced audio person as opposed to teaching a newcomer is much easier, as you'll understand all the terminology ...

I specialise in electronic music as well. I'm a big electronic music freak. Do you have a link to check out some of your work? I'm interested in hearing it, but also, by listening I can probably make some decent recomendations based on mixdown quality and your style of music and how you compose it. ...

Thanx for the reply. I was under the impression that -10dBV is hotter than +4dBu. If the fader thing works, then I'm good to go, but it doesn't seem like it would. I will try it the next time I'm at the studio though. Well, of all the DAW's out there, PT is the closest to emulating an analog enviro...

I believe this is an FXpansion issue. It's been a while since I did this, but you have to run FXpansion in standalone mode and have it scan your drive(s) for plug-ins. Make sure you select all destinations that you have plug-ins installed to. I know some plug-ins like to install themselves in the (W...

Not sure if you're aware of this or not, guess you'd be surprised sometimes so I thought I'd quickly mention: On channels 6-8 of the Digi002 there's a +4 / -10 switch on the back panel. Try putting those into -10 mode and using those for your channels that are clipping. Run your condensers through p...

yeah, it's just the one drive. Don't know the speed - I assume my buddy that built it probably just got the most gigs for the money....I will be getting a dedicated drive soon, though! The problem is not evident anymore in my newer sessions. When I navigate around the directory to older sessions, h...

n this computer uses standard dell-sized PS connector. Is it the same conection type, power specs and size... or is it a Dell brand PS? Dell Laptop PS units are notorious for being excruciatingly noisy. Lump in the line type connector, right? This definitely sounds like a ground loop caused by a po...
