Thanks! I'd love to press some LPs, but I don't have the cash to press or the promotion time/ability/gumption to sell 'em. Maybe someday. Haven't worked on this stuff much since summer, but I'm starting to get at it again. I've been busy working 2 jobs, gigging and recording other people's music (wh...

Rocket Bureau: One-man analog rock'n'roll band
[I haven't posted here in forever, hope this isn't too spammy]
Here are a bunch of singles I recorded in my basement to Otari MX-5050 8-track. It's rock, I try to make it catchy, it's whatever you wanna call it. Enjoy!

WTB: Ampex MM1100 Head Mounting Plate
Long story short, I've got a 2" 16-track headblock from an MM1000 that I'd like to put on an MM1100, but the mounting plates are different. AFAIK, the connecting pins for the heads are the same on either machine (if I'm wrong, somebody PLEASE correct me). So I'm interested in the head mounting plate...

I took piano lessons in grade school for about 4 years. Then I started drumming around age 11, guitar around 14, bass around 17, and I've been singing my whole life. I've also picked up a little bit of tenor sax, but I don't have one so I can't really play now, and I played trombone (poorly) on a re...

I don't want it to be a big production with weird panning and stuff...I'm thinking more along the lines of Buddy Holly or Chuck Berry. Sorry, I guess I meant to say "pre-Beatles" rock 'n' roll :D I think the key to that stuff is keep everything as simple as possible. No more than one mic on the dru...

Speaking of DBX, I have a 208 rackmount (8 modules of DBX 411) that I'd love to put into service in replacement of the 150--if only I knew a) that it was an improvement over the 150, and b) whether or not it was compatible with the 150s. I've brought this up on the TOMB a couple of times, only to m...

Otari MX5050 1/2" 8-track Scully 280 1/4" 2-track Hopefully soon to be augmented by an Ampex MM-1100 1" 8-track, then I can bounce between both 8-tracks because I'm dirty like that. No computer, although I'm thinking of putting something real cheap and simple down there just to make quick reference ...
