since it's your vocal, not a client, and i have to assume you're not paying a thousand dollars an hour and don't have a deadline looming, the technique thing is really the best way to handle this. mic technique is the hallmark of a true professional when it comes to "electric" vocalists. "electric,"...

Rod is right. You don't want to feed it back to the input of the marshall. Rod's got a good point, but he's not "right" in the sense that any other way would be wrong. You can run through the input. There are a couple reasons for this: 1. Impedance mismatch. (unless you have a reamp box) Not an iss...

yep.

for now (and in the future if you encounter a similar issue) you could use the advanced search options on google to limit the search to just that forum.

they've been having issues with hosts lately. give it a couple minutes. if you can't get on there, and don't get a satisfactory answer here, I'd be happy to post the question for you. edit - btw i don't personally think it'll make much difference. as long as you're not confusing polarized for nonpol...

yes. not unreasonable, but outside the realm of the intended consumer of the applications you are using. don't know if Toast's gotten better, but it used to inforce a "5 second rule" between tracks. If you wanted less you would have to fork for Jam. I don't know that any of the popular cheap CD burn...

that was my first answer. just because they're "matched" doesn't mean you have to use them as a pair.

I also thought you could point them at the back corners of your room.

Slightly different (noticeable?) sound. Not to schlub the guys on this board, but diystompboxes is a great place for questions like this.

I was going to mention the moogerfoogers too. If the Freq's not what you're looking for, the low pass filter might be more like it. Their Ring Modulator is pretty cool too.

and while i love the idea of just a pair of room mics and a kick mic it is not a terribly realistic proposition for any kind of rock record, IMO. Just wondering if you happened to read the part of the most recent issue where dude was talking about recording bonham? That's a case of a drummer actual...

I go with two syllables "SPiD-IF". I refuse to recognize the backslash. That's a forward slash, dude. I actually had to correct the singer at a concert the other night when he said to go to their website at [something.com] "backslash" [whatever] backslashes are used for DOS (rhymes with boss), but ...

i wonder if there's some type of "stereo enhance" feature on the ipod that is purposely flipping one side. not sure if it would even produce the widening effect in headphones, but it is a not uncommon feature on consumer gear.

I think he was talking about the 3-prong to 1/4" adapter that people above were talking about. I don't know how much you're likely to hurt somebody with it, but I can see where it's a potential to destroy a speaker or amp. I had the idea years ago, and abandoned it for exactly that same reason. Occa...

Dick. :) I'm having a similar problem. I'm using a Fostex D2424 into a Steinberg VSL2020, running Cubase on XP (I've tried it with 2000 and had the same issue). In my setup, if I set the VSL2020 to external clock, it auto-detects the sample rate. Is there a seperate setting Cubase to tell the progra...

I've done this for years. Never had a problem, except that they're 100' long and i'm notoriously bad about properly coiling my cables after a gig.
