Re: learning to play guitar better... with $0

but what i don't understand... is why it's so important to learn other people's music in order to play my own and play it well? there are so many times in which i have this amazingly perfect melody in my head, and it takes me all day to figure out how to play it on guitar. that's just sad. You answ...

Re: Motu 828 mic level - input gain all the way up, signal l

I've got one and pretty much stay under 12 o'clock on the input levels and it seems fine. I think I've gone up to about 3 o'clock at the highest. I record loud rock bands, though, haven't tried it on any quieter sources than vocals. I have used dynamics as well as condensers with it, though I guess ...

Re: Who here knows stuff about ASP?

Hey Andrew,

I know a few things about asp and css. Sometimes you have to navigate to the css file with your browser and reload to clear the cache.

I'm at work so no phone call but if you want to shoot me a PM or email I'll try to answer your questions.

Re: music videos where they actually play the instruments...

damn fools, what kind of stink-up is this? Videos are mimed, even when the fools are "playin", you still hear the back track, which they most likely didn't play live anyway. trick thread, bad taste, I'll get you rotten fools for this. You made T look silly. Somebody bring me Luther, he'll sort it o...

Re: all sorts of DP problems

You running OSX? DPs still not quite optimized IMO, though if you're on a G5 or a dual G4 you might not even notice. If you call MOTU and complain they'd probably send you a copy of version 3 to run in OS9 (I know of someone else who did that exact thing). I'm hoping they get it running smoother on ...

Re: A suggestion for you...

Here is another alternative: http://www.overclockers.com/tips1133/index02.asp That actually was kind of a hoax. http://www.overclockers.com/tips1133/ I run a dual 1.25 G4 at work and it's plenty fast for any graphic work that I throw at it. Lots of space for extra HDs (very easy to install as well)...

I don't really like pop ups either, BUT I like it better centering it and wasting space. I haven't been able to build a scroll style page that looks original. Thanks for your criticisim. That's all well and good but it won't pop on Mozilla or Safari for me with pop-up window blocking turned on. A p...

Re: Wilma or Betty?

Man that Flintstones movie killed anything I might ever have had for Betty. http://www.filmwise.com/contests/contest_06/image_04a.jpg And most redheads are crazy IMHO, especially the attractive ones. I'd make an exeption for Josie, though the drummer was just as hot. The sister (Alexandra, not the b...

Re: I need help with an article

1) Are you familiar with basic guitar anatomy? For example, could you identify a truss rod, locknut, or scarf joint? Yeah, there's a great scarf joint downtown where I go to lunch sometimes, but I usually regret it later in the day. Seriously, I'm a guitar player and I have no idea what a scarf joi...

Holy shit, I can't believe I said Jeff Watson when I meant Brad Gillis...I really need to proof my posts more thoroughly...I feel like a fucking poseur! I'm with ya though...he was the meat of the guitar player team all dissing aside. Not the only great musican in the band, though. I stand by what ...

Re: Night Ranger vs. Triumph vs. Zebra vs. Journey vs. ...

To me Jeff Watson was the only talented guy in Night Ranger (and it was Brad Gillis, not him who played with Ozzy BTW) - the eight finger tapping stuff was pretty stupid but when he played the regular way he was pretty smokin' (just listen to the second half of "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" solo - all...

Re: long names vs. shortened names

Right there with ya. I'm a Jonathan as well, although I only get called as much at work. The rest of the time I'm Jj. My dad is John, and so am I. I used to be "JJ" short for "John Jacob". My other middle name is "Edward" (I'm not fond of that but without that I would've been JJS the Fifth!) and my...
