i'd like to throw in a vote for guild - specifically guild d-50's. for the money they're the biggest fullest sounding acoustics i've heard. you can buy a decent one for 1500 - to get comparable "tone", i found i had to spend closer to three grand for a gibson - and even then i still preferred the lo...

thanks for the tips kenny, really appreciate it! quick question... what's folk's opinions on those cheap ART mic pre's? The VTB 1 looks good, but is it that much more of a pre than an ART? Really, i'm just looking for the power supply for the rode, right? and there are pretty good pre's in the firew...

firewire 410 + phantom power + ribbon mic
Hey folks, First post for me. I'm just getting rolling on my first digital home recording. I am running an m-audio firewire 410 to a macbook. I want to run my rode NT1A side by side with an Apex ribbon mic. Unfortunately my Rode requires phantom power and the m-audio only runs it globally so... crap...
